This season, we did the wholesale market our way. Instead of paying thousands for a booth lost in a sea of vendors, we hosted a walkable private showroom in the Garment District—a calm, personal space where buyers could slow down, handle our small-batch, machine-washable coated-canvas bags, and see our vintage upholstery fabrics up close (without the fast-paced, transactional buzz of the show floor).

Crystalyn Kae showroom in the Garment Center

I wish I could say our temporary showroom stayed this perfect all day… but a little creative chaos is a great problem to have.
Colorful linings inside each of our bags

Finding joy in the details is our thing—every lining is chosen to be beautiful, durable, and mess-friendly (yes, most styles go through the washing machine). Learn more: What is coated canvas?
Day 1 at our Private Showroom During Market week in NYC
The day was a flurry of ins and outs, but two of my favorite shop owners—@presentsofmind and @hudsonclothierny—stayed for at least an hour to talk through fit, fabrics, and merchandising ideas. That kind of conversation doesn’t happen under buzzing convention-center lights. It reaffirmed what we believe: relationships are more valuable than transactions.

Brainstorming new fabrications
We sketched, mixed swatches, and tested some totally fresh pairings. There’s one unlikely print I didn’t expect to love… and now I’m obsessed. Stay tuned for a small-batch drop.

Fabric swatches for handbags
Our materials include rescued vintage upholstery—from airplanes, automobiles, and interiors—chosen for strength and style. That’s how our bags stay lightweight, durable, and look better with every wear.
Leather card cases Beauty in the smallest details: these card cases began as leather swatches rescued via FABSCRAP and hand-picked (and sewn) by me on our vintage industrial machines.

A table of limited-edition bags
I’m not gonna lie—it was a long three days. But it was exhilarating. What started as a refreshing alternative to the trade-show grind now feels like our blueprint. We’ll do it again soon- check out show schedule. I’m open to teaming up with a few designers to pool resources and create an even better buyer experience. DM me if you’re in.
p.s. Thank you Fashion Institute for Technology Designers and Entrepreneurs for the gorgeous space. Let's do this again soon!
